Description

A murder in a small village. It has been committed by two underage students. Relatives, neighbors, police officers, and journalists parade to express their anger and grief, their truths and lies. The murder becomes a mirror where they are forced to confront their true selves. And then, next to the great crime, the small crimes of insincerity, cowardice, selfishness, and infidelity emerge...

The heroes of the story, trapped in an area plagued by personal inadequacies, social deadlocks, and the shadows of the Civil War, are adults but also their children, teenagers who rebel as their dreams are blocked and they blindly strike out, with the impetuosity of youth, seeking a way out. Who ultimately arms the hand that strikes, and who is to blame? Who is the perpetrator and who is the victim?

With a crucial narrative, Vasiliki Petsa highlights in her novel the moral and psychological deadlocks of common human stories and presents with simplicity and power the unstable and problematic side of everyday life.
