In the first part of the trilogy, we saw Amy violently waking up from the cryogenic state she was in and realizing that everyone's life on the spaceship "Good Descendant", heading towards a new planet, was at the mercy of the tyrannical Elder. So, she allies with her rebellious and charming son, the Elder, and puts an end to the tyranny her father was exercising. The Elder's first symbolic move in the new era for the "Good Descendant" is to interrupt the production of Fydus, the all-powerful drug that kept everyone on the spaceship suppressed. The result? Where life on the "Good Descendant" was progressing thanks to lies, it is now overshadowed by the constant threat of a revolution. Additionally, some very disturbing elements about the state of the spaceship come to light. The goal of the journey is drifting away. Amy and the Elder must cooperate for the good of all...
