Description

The book "Bookbinding" by Theodoros I. Maragoudakis, professor of craftsmanship at the Marasleios School, was published in 1933 as the third issue of the "Practical Guide to Craftsmanship", as part of the publication of auxiliary books "for teachers in elementary schools" for the subject of craftsmanship.

It was approved by the then Minister of Education, Dim. Chatziskos, with decision number 68351/12 December 1932, "Regarding the approval or non-approval of educational aids", along with the author's aids for "Plastic Arts", "Paper Crafts", and "Weaving, Wire Crafts, Wood Crafts", in an attempt to overcome difficulties in teaching the subject of craftsmanship in schools. In the early 1930s.

[...] "Bookbinding" by T. Maragoudakis, although it has the character of an aid for teachers of elementary school children, with minimal technical support, it remains the first systematic attempt to record the technique of bookbinding in Greek literature.

The text was republished in the volume "Bookbinder 1", 184-206, published by the Bookbinding Workshop of Babis Leggas, Athens 1999.
