From the first-second text of Chrysa Stefatos that reached me, I felt that what she has to say is dense, clear at the same time, and complete.
In Chrysa's words, I found causes and motives, I found reasons to delve deeper into the meanings. The conciseness of each of the meaningful phrases that make up a small but complete poetic world in each of her poems concerns me more than the specific weight. Her words have the consistency of a person who, no matter how heretical he has lived, respected his life, loved and was loved, stood tall in difficult times, and when he knelt, bled and then quietly healed his wounds. She does not boast and does not pretend. She does not wander and does not get carried away. She counts.
First of all, she counts her relationship with the reader. Chrysa is a true co-author because she writes together with her reader, takes him seriously, strives to move him, to engage him in her writings, to express him. For me, this ethos puts her in the front line. I don't know if tomorrow she will continue to write poetry or turn to genres and forms that equally concern her. I only know that her awareness of economy, along with the clear intention not to leave anyone out of her words, to keep these doors open so that the reason that drives her does not get lost but emerges as an act of high ethics, honors us as readers.
