A monstrous climatic upheaval drives the planet into an accelerating phase of ice ages, which abolishes civilization. A writer is hired by a mysterious organization to find the traces of a lost scientist, who had predicted the unexpected invasion of the Cold and who may know how to restore things to their previous state. The writer's search will lead him to the end of the world, through adventures that echo lost mythologies, living nightmares, and sacred dreams.
