People have always sung, improvised, and enjoyed language and music, according to the rhythm and movement of their bodies. They competed to better express words and create musical sounds. Thus, Folk Song was born.

Through poetic narratives, messages, pains, and complaints pass, usually of ordinary everyday people, whose lives are not different from those who were dragged into slavery. Life, for many oppressed, has no value. Above all, profit reigns, easy wealth, and all forms of exploitation. Everything else is mere details.

Folk Song has immense value. It is what has transported us through time and kept us standing together with the Greek language. The Akritic, Historical, Klephtic, Paralogical, Erotic, Exile, Death (Laments, Lullabies, Wedding Songs, Morning Songs, Proverbs, Ballads, Witty Songs), and others, with their equally valuable themes and their excellent technique, stood by our suffering people in difficult times.
