The present volume contains the first edition of the anthology "The Second Post-War Poetry Generation" by Anestis Evangelou, with an introduction by Giorgos Aragi (Paratiritis, Thessaloniki 1994). The purpose of the anthology was to restore, in terms of literature, the position of the second post-war poetry generation, which had been silenced, between the first and the third post-war poetry generations. Today, we have the opportunity to appreciate that this purpose has been achieved to an exceptional degree, as since then this particular generation has been widely recognized and documented. In addition to the first edition of 1994, the current edition includes, with the care of Giorgos Aragi, the latest elements that have emerged from 1993 to 2012. Specifically, a second introduction, brief sketches of the anthologized poets, a bibliography, a selection of criticism, translations of poems or collections into foreign languages, and finally a proportional anthology of the poems have been added. Thus, the initial anthology, supplemented with newer elements, provides a more complete picture of the second post-war poetry generation.
